I'm happy to announce that the world-known, great guitarist Jim Campilongo is coming back to Finland for a small tour now in October! The last time bassist Vesa Saloranta and I saw him and played with him was in Tokyo, Japan and cities in the Czech Rebublic in 2012 so it has been a while.

Also, my group Johan Ölander Quartet is going to Oslo, Norway in October to play - nice.

The new album by Johan Ölander Quartet, "The Tongue-Twister", was released on 16th of April. It can now be found in well-stocked record-shops or can be ordered directly from Alba Records or Johan.

JÖQ will be playing at Pori Jazz 2012 on Thursday 19th of July.

Vesa Saloranta and Johan are going to tour with the great guitar-player Jim Campilongo from New York in Tokyo, Japan on June, in Finland and Norway on September, and in Czech Republic on November 2012. Specific dates can be found under the Gigs -section.

Johan Ölander Quartet is making a new album with all new music by Johan. Members of the band are Hannu Hiltula; piano & saxophone, Ari Polojärvi; guitar, Vesku Saloranta; bass and Johan on drums. The recording session takes place in october 2011 and the record will be out in the spring of 2012!

The great saxophone player Will Vinson from New York will also participate on the new JÖQ album!

Johan and bassplayer Vesku Saloranta are travelling to New York to meet people, to hang out with their NY musician-friends and play with them at a couple of clubs, and to check out good music!
